Virtual Virtuoso

Project Summary

For novice music creators, complex production systems are now available on mainstream devices. As Virtual Reality (VR) systems become more readily available to consumers, there is a unique opportunity to develop an interactive environment for music creation. We investigated how VR can enhance the user experience of music creation for novice music creators. We have implemented a fun, yet simple, interaction with exploration being a key theme.

Virtual Virtuoso is an immersive room-scale environment for music production for novices. Individual blocks play looped audio and can be manipulated by the user to add tracks, solo, change volume, mute, pan and play.
